The distinguish gentleman from Florida, Republican Senator Marco Rubio, has a new job as the head of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) gave Marco Rubio the new gig after the former head, Senator Richard Burr (R-NC), stepped down.

“The senior senator for Florida is a talented and experienced
leader with expertise in foreign affairs and national security
matters…His care for our nation’s security, advocacy for our values
and interest, and vigilance toward threats have earned a national
reputation. On subjects ranging from China and Russia to Iran
and North Korea to tyranny and unrest in our own hemisphere.
Senator Rubio has been on the case for years. By and large, our
nation’s intelligence professionals are dedicated, hard-working
men and women who counter foreign threats and keep America
safe…But as recent years have made painfully clear with respect
to federal law enforcement, we also need proactive leadership
from within and thorough oversight from congress to keep
partisan bias and political interference out of these sensitive
activities,” is what Mitch McConnell said in a press release about
the senior senator from Florida taking the helm of the Senate
     Intelligence Committee.

Richard Burr got himself into a pickle after he decided to sell off millions of his pharmaceutical stock just before the coronavirus made the stock market take a dive.

The FBI showed up at Richard Burr’s house, went through his stuff, and then walked out with boxes of evidence related to the agency’s investigation into insider trading associated with the coronavirus stock sale.

Let Richard Burr tell it, though, he stepped aside because he doesn’t want all the attention on him taking away from the all-important work that the Senate Intelligence Committee is doing to keep the country safe.

The only problem with Richard Burr’s reasoning for his exit from the Senate Intelligence Committee is that the FBI is also looking at some of his fellow senators, like Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and fresh woman Senator Katie Loeffler (R-GA), who did the same thing that he did.

Like us common folks, the FBI is asking the question, “Why did all of these senators sell their pharmaceutical stocks right before the coronavirus tanked the markets?”

Marco Rubio ain’t being looked at. Come to think of it, he’s been such a good boy that he’s gotten a new job to add on to his resume whenever he runs for president in 2024.

What’s better than telling the American people that as the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, you were directly responsible for stopping the Russians from interfering in our elections again?

He’ll get somebody to cross the aisle and vote for him on that alone. So yeah, this new gig puts Marco Rubio there in a good position to be the Republican Presidential Nominee or somebody’s VP if he doesn’t get the former.

Now, as for these senators who are about to find themselves out the pot and into the fire, their usual answers of, “I did nothing wrong. My husband sold the stock,” aren’t cutting it because all those answers do is shift the blame from you to everybody else.

And anybody who knows anything about the law knows that shifting blame ain’t nothing but evidence of your wrongdoing. Folks, you can’t shift what you don’t have to shift. And if you’re shifting blame, then that means you’re shifting blame away from yourself to somebody else.

Richard Burr, Diane Feinstein, Kelly Loeffler, and those other senators who are also in hot water all know this. That’s why they’re fully cooperating with the FBI, providing them with all the information they need. They know that you’re a goner whenever the FBI makes it known that you’re a target; just ask that die hard Trump supporter and former Congressman Chris Collins (R-NY).

Chris Collins is serving two years in prison for insider trading relating to his stock sale of an Australian pharmaceutical company that was making a drug to treat multiple sclerosis. The FBI had been following at him for a while. And then BAAM! Back in 2018, they got him. The FBI are like ghosts, in that way. They don’t show themselves until it’s time to get you.

And luckily for the new chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Marco Rubio, Richard Burr is the first one whose time it is to be got.
